A partnership project

Our combined expertise.

SAFE is co-designed by two practitioners bridging medical safety and psychological safety at wellness and music events.

Our mission

To make psychological safety as integral to wellness and music events as physical and medical safety.

The most meaningful wellness experiences happen when people feel safe enough to be open, curious and present. Yet for many organisers and facilitators, psychological safety is an idea rather than a plan.

We believe every person at a wellness or music event deserves a clear, consistent experience of care. Whether someone becomes overwhelmed, has a difficult memory surface, or simply needs a quiet moment, the team around them should know how to respond with confidence and compassion.

What we are working towards

  • Psychological safety treated as standard event planning, not an afterthought.
  • Facilitators and welfare teams equipped with clear language and thresholds.
  • Aftercare that extends beyond the session or the weekend.
  • A culture where participants and staff alike feel held.

Our values

What guides the way we work.

Safety without over-medicalising

We protect emotional and psychological safety without turning a wellness event into a clinical setting. Sensitivity and structure can coexist.

Consent and agency

People need clear information, real choice and the freedom to change their mind. Consent is a continuous process, not a single checkbox.

Facilitator wellbeing

Those holding space for others need support too. Sustainable care starts with looking after the people doing the caring.

Reflective practice

We learn after the event as well as during it. Reflection, debrief and supervision turn isolated experiences into shared learning.

How SAFE supports

Psychological safety at wellness and music events.

A shared language

SAFE gives organisers, facilitators, welfare teams and medical staff a common way to talk about risk, response and aftercare. When everyone uses the same words, decisions become quicker and more consistent.

Clear thresholds

Not every emotional moment needs a clinician, and not every quiet response is enough. SAFE helps teams recognise when to stay present, when to escalate and when to refer.

Aftercare beyond the session

Psychological safety does not end when the workshop finishes. SAFE includes guidance for signposting, follow-up and looking after facilitators and volunteers after the event.

Built for the realities of

  • Retreats and residential spaces
  • Festivals and outdoor gatherings
  • Wellness workshops and breathwork sessions
  • Bodywork, somatic and movement spaces
  • Community care and welfare teams
  • Organisers commissioning facilitators

SAFE translates trauma-informed and clinical learning into practical guidance for the pace, pressure and communal nature of wellness and music events.

Together

We bridge two essential elements of modern event safety.
